1 Security Deposit
- A refundable security deposit is collected at the time of rental
- Deposit amount varies per book (typically ₹100–₹200)
- The deposit is held only for the duration of your rental
- Upon safe return of the book, the full deposit is refunded
2 Possible Deductions
📖 Important: The book must be returned in the same condition as it was given at the time of delivery. If any damage is found, the applicable amount will be deducted from the security deposit — or if the deposit is insufficient, the remaining amount must be paid by the user.
Deductions from the deposit may occur in the following cases:
- Late return: ₹10 per day for each day beyond the due date
- Minor damage: Torn pages, stains, or writing — ₹20–₹100 depending on severity
- Major damage: If a book is severely damaged, unusable, or has missing pages, the user may be responsible for the book’s full replacement cost.
- Lost book: Full replacement cost — typically ₹200–₹500 depending on the book
⚠️ Any deductions will be clearly communicated to you before processing the refund.
Damage assessment is performed reasonably by the Eabo team based on the condition of the returned book.
3 Rental Fee Refunds
- The rental fee is non-refundable once the book has been delivered or pickup has been completed
- If Eabo is unable to fulfill your order, a full refund (rent + deposit) will be issued
- Orders may only be cancelled before the book has been marked as delivered or pickup completed — cancellations before activation are eligible for a full refund
4 Extension Fee Refunds
- If an extension request is rejected, no extension charges will be applied
- Approved extension fees are non-refundable once the extension period has begun
- Extension fees are deducted from your security deposit at time of approval
5 Refund Timeline
✓ Refunds are processed within 24–48 hours after the book is safely returned.
- Refunds are processed through the payment method or UPI details provided by the user during refund coordination
- Bank processing may take an additional 1–3 business days
- If you haven't received your refund within 5 days, contact us immediately
6 Changes to This Policy
Eabo may update this Refund Policy from time to time to reflect operational or policy changes. Continued use of the platform constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
